Key Responsibilities- Job Planning and Coordination
- Collaborate with the foreman or paver operator to plan the job.
- Walk and mark the plan, measure out passes, and determine material yield from truckloads.
- Maintain a steady job pace and track the trucking schedule.
- Quality Control
- Monitor various aspects of job quality, including the mat, edges, joints, and overall performance.
- Ensure consistent joints between paver passes and maintain proper screed adjustments.
- Assist with handwork as needed.
- Equipment Operation
- Operate the asphalt screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications.
- Work closely with the crew superintendent to meet daily schedules and estimates.
