Asphalt Distributor Specialist

About the Role:

The Tack Truck Driver is a skilled craft position responsible for operating an asphalt distributor on construction projects. This role requires a combination of skills and abilities, including operating heavy equipment, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Tack Truck Safely: The Tack Truck Driver must ensure the safe operation of the asphalt distributor, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Load and Maintain Tack Truck: The driver must load the tack truck with oil and maintain it to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Monitor Oil and Mix Temperature: The driver must constantly monitor the temperature of the oil and mix to ensure it is within the required parameters.
• Work with Asphalt Crew: When the tack truck is not in use, the driver must work with the asphalt crew to perform additional duties.
• Perform Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: The driver must perform daily safety checks of the tack truck and maintain completed pre- and post-trip DVIRs.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Notify Supervisor of Vehicle Repairs: The driver must notify the supervisor if the vehicle needs to be repaired.
• Maintain Medical Examiner's Certificate: The driver must carry a current medical examiner's certificate.
• Perform Incidental Work Items: The driver may be required to perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts.
