Job Title: Mechanical Coordinator II

Under the general supervision of the Administrator of Utilities and Telecommunications, the Mechanical Coordinator II develops and implements programs and practices that enhance utilities conservation in District facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements energy management programs for specific buildings and District-wide.
  • Assists in the design of electrical and mechanical systems in new buildings and retrofit installations.
  • Serves as the primary operator of the operations section's Energy Management and Control System (EMCS).
  • Coordinates electrical installation with electrical contractors at job sites as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and responds to HVAC problem calls.
  • Monitors District building energy performance and advises operations personnel of system anomalies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Completion of IUOE Apprenticeship Program or equivalent vocational-technical program and three (3) years Journey Stationary Engineer level experience, or ten (10) years Journey level experience operating building mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Steam Engineer Grade Three Refrigeration Operating Engineer certification.
  • Criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
