Music Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. This role will involve developing and implementing music programs for residents, providing a therapeutic environment that maintains each resident's highest level of physical, social, and psychological well-being.

• Develop and implement music programs for residents, including creating a therapeutic environment that maintains each resident's highest level of physical, social, and psychological well-being.
• Provide music therapy services to residents, including playing at least one instrument with above-average proficiency and the ability to transpose and improvise.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
• Document resident progress and maintain accurate records.

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or its equivalent, including a 6-month internship at a clinical training facility approved by the American Music Therapy Association.
• Knowledge of the emotional, physical, mental, and social needs of the geriatric population preferred.
• Ability to play at least one instrument with above-average proficiency, including the ability to transpose and improvise.
• Must be available to work other than normal hours.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
