About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. As a Music Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing music programs that promote the physical, social, and psychological well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement music programs tailored to the needs of our geriatric population
  • Provide a therapeutic environment that fosters physical, social, and psychological well-being
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Transport residents to out-of-facility functions as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or equivalent, including a 6-month internship at a clinical training facility approved by the American Music Therapy Association
  • Knowledge of the emotional, physical, mental, and social needs of the geriatric population preferred
  • Ability to play at least one instrument with above-average proficiency, including transposition and improvisation
  • Regular attendance and flexibility to work outside normal hours
  • Fluent English language skills
