We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Shift Coordinator RN to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Clinical Shift Coordinator RN, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the operating room, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that the unit runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the operating room, including patient flow, staffing, and supplies.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and that the unit runs smoothly.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing team, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an operating room setting.
  • Telemetry competency.
  • Specialty certification such as CV-RN, CHFN, CCRN, PCCN, CNML, NE-BC, etc. required within 2 years.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Consistently works within the framework of the Illinois Practice Act for Nursing and ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice.
  • Ability to assess and determine situations requiring an interpreter and to use interpreter services effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 or more years in pertinent clinical specialty.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with BSN.
  • Cert NRN.
