Key Responsibilities

Position: Physician Assistant - Critical Care - Hospitalist Division

Schedule: Night Shift - 7pm to 7am

The Night Shift Physician Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Collecting patient medical histories as needed.
  • Conducting physical examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  • Diagnosing, treating, and monitoring chronic conditions following protocol guidelines.
  • Ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribing medications and recommending treatment plans within protocol guidelines.
  • Providing preventive health screenings and immunizations for all age groups.
  • Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices through patient education and counseling.
  • Assisting physicians with minor surgical procedures.
  • Ensuring timely documentation and chart sign-offs by supervising physicians.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Conducting follow-up calls to assess patient progress.
  • Supporting physicians with phone coverage and hospital rounds.
  • Collaborating with nursing staff to optimize patient flow.
  • Consulting with physicians regarding patient symptoms to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

Master's Degree in a relevant field.

3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care environment is required.

1-3 years of experience in either an acute or primary care setting is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications Required

Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the state of practice.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

* Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

* Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

* Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Windows-based applications.

Cognitive Function Requirements

Ability to follow instructions, maintain focus, synthesize and analyze information, perform repetitive tasks, and interact effectively with colleagues and patients.

Compensation
$75.29 per hour
