Key Responsibilities
Physician Assistant - Critical Care - Hospitalist Division

Night Shift - 7pm to 7am

The Night Shift Physician Assistant plays a vital role in the Critical Care Unit.

Essential Duties
  • Collect and document patient medical histories as needed.
  • Conduct physical examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  • Diagnose and manage chronic conditions within set guidelines.
  • Order necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as per established protocols.
  • Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for patients.
  • Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries.
  • Ensure timely documentation and charting of patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Follow up with patients to monitor their progress.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care.
  • Consult with supervising physicians regarding patient care plans.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

Master's Degree in a relevant field.

3-5 years of clinical experience in an acute care environment is required.

1-3 years of experience in an acute or primary care setting is preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong communication skills and understanding of nursing principles for effective patient care. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Windows-based applications.

Ability to follow instructions and maintain focus on tasks. Capacity to synthesize and analyze data effectively. Ability to perform a variety of tasks while maintaining a steady work pace. Competence in building relationships with colleagues and patients. Capability to understand and apply detailed instructions. Ability to make informed decisions based on relevant information.
