Rural Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics

The Rural Family Medicine Physician delivers extensive family healthcare services tailored to individuals across all demographics. In alignment with community needs, the Rural Physician also engages in shared after-hours emergency response duties. The medical services rendered adhere to SEARHC policies, medical staff regulations, and established national healthcare standards.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
- Delivers thorough primary healthcare, encompassing diagnosis, treatment, minor surgical procedures, care coordination, referrals, preventive measures, and health maintenance for a dedicated patient base.
- Actively participates in local urgent and emergency care on-call schedules.
- Ensures precise and timely documentation of services in compliance with SEARHC policies.
- Strives for an exceptional patient experience through effective communication and listening skills, fostering long-term patient relationships.
- Engages in SEARHC's quality care initiatives and quality assurance programs.
- Participates in provider and clinic meetings, as well as SEARHC medical staff activities.
Required Education, Certifications, and Licenses
- Possession of a valid State of Alaska Medical License as an MD or DO.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. If Board Eligible, certification must be achieved within three years of employment commencement.
- Maintains an active, unrestricted DEA registration.
- Holds active SEARHC medical staff privileges.
- Obtains BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within one year of employment.
- ALSO training is preferred.
Knowledge Requirements
- Thorough understanding of primary care principles and practices.
- Familiarity with standards of care, EMTALA, HIPAA, healthcare risk management, medical ethics, and malpractice principles.
Skill Set
- Ability to communicate openly, respectfully, and collaboratively with both staff and patients.
Competencies
- Deliver high-quality healthcare services, including performing medical procedures suited for outpatient and emergency settings.
- Exhibit clinical leadership, promote teamwork, provide guidance to midlevel providers, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Utilize electronic medical records and necessary clinical technologies efficiently.
- Articulate ideas clearly through verbal and written communication, analyze complex scenarios effectively, and implement clinical program strategies successfully.
