Job Overview

Position Summary: This role is dedicated to providing individualized support to children with special needs. As a Behavioral Technician, you will implement strategies aimed at enhancing communication, social interaction, and verbal skills while minimizing challenging behaviors through the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You will work under the guidance of the Clinical and Administrative Leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for client sessions by reviewing prior documentation and notes.
  • Implement skill acquisition programs, utilizing techniques such as Discrete Trial Instruction and Natural Environment Teaching.
  • Monitor and document behaviors through various data collection methods.
  • Adhere to individualized behavior intervention plans, addressing problematic behaviors as specified.
  • Complete necessary end-of-session tasks, including documenting time worked and session details.
  • Familiarize yourself with and utilize assistive technology and specialized equipment.
  • Engage in clinic meetings, training sessions, and case reviews.
  • Support parent training initiatives by demonstrating ABA techniques.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in community events during evenings and weekends as opportunities arise.
  • Contribute to team responsibilities and chores.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; RBT Certification sponsored by the company must be obtained before working independently with clients.

Preferred Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in psychology or a related discipline, experience with ABA principles, and prior work with children with special needs are advantageous.

Knowledge Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis, and familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Physical Demands: This role is active and requires the ability to bend, sit, stand, lift, walk, and assist children throughout the day. Lifting requirements typically range from 5-20 lbs., with potential for heavier lifting in certain situations.

Position Type: This is a part-time role with morning hours, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time based on business needs.
