Position Summary

The Controls Engineering Manager is tasked with overseeing a substantial team of analysts, specialists, and engineers dedicated to the design, construction, maintenance, and long-term operational support of Process and Pipeline Control Systems, as well as Terminal Automation systems (collectively referred to as control systems). These systems are essential for the continuous real-time operations that monitor, control, and optimize the processing, transportation, storage, and delivery of hazardous liquids and gases. The control systems play a vital role in the operations of Enterprise Products Partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the overall performance of the control systems utilized by operational staff within the organization. This encompasses architecture, operational integrity, functional capabilities, cybersecurity, regulatory adherence, safety systems, and design suitability.
  • Oversee the interconnection, development, and support of real-time process historical data for operations management, commercial, and engineering purposes.
  • Review and endorse any relevant engineering standards and procedures that impact control systems.
  • Manage capital and operational budgets, including the assessment, approval, and allocation of these budgets to operations as required.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select control system vendors that align with the operational and capital project requirements of the organization.
  • Foster a leadership environment that promotes creativity, engagement, and challenges, encouraging employee growth and development.
  • Engage with industry organizations to remain informed and lead advancements in the safe and efficient operation of control systems.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, along with 10 years of relevant experience in managing large-scale liquids and gas control systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the process industry and current regulations pertaining to safe operations.
  • Familiarity with the pipeline industry and existing regulatory frameworks related to control center support.
  • Proficient in interacting effectively with operations, control center personnel, vendors, other departments, and senior management.
  • Able to cultivate and manage a collaborative team environment.
  • Capable of performing under pressure when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 20 lbs. to facilitate standard job duties involving control system or office equipment.
