Job Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately perform testing according to established laboratory policies and procedures.
  2. Recognize deviations from expected results, evaluate results for discrepancies, and correct problems according to procedure.
  3. Perform quality control procedures to ensure the validity of test results.
  4. Ensure patient specimen stability and proper sample processing.
  5. Perform instrument startup and shutdown, maintenance procedures, and calibrations as needed.
  6. Meet expectations for turnaround time (TAT) and pending list review.
  7. Report for work on assigned days at assigned times.
  8. Perform special projects, such as evaluating new reagents, procedures, tests, or other duties as assigned.
  9. Achieve a minimum of 10 continuing education hours annually.
  10. Actively participate in performance improvement activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field.
  • No experience required, but new graduates can be hired without certification, with the opportunity to earn it within six months of hire date.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist by an approved accrediting agency.
