Job Description

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Manager to join its team. As a key member of the laboratory management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, and providing leadership and guidance to laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lab Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those related to animal care, chemical safety, and data management.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, including technicians, assistants, and interns.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate research projects and experiments, ensuring that timelines and objectives are met.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific field.
  • Experience: Four years of relevant experience, including at least one year of experience in a specific area assigned.
  • Certifications: Must meet education and experience certification and training guidelines for equipment and tests used and performed in laboratory, as required under federal regulations.
