Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Large Animal Care Specialist. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to large animals, working closely with our clinical faculty, residents, interns, and senior veterinary students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic and intensive nursing care to large animals, including administering medications and performing various medical procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring the highest level of care and safety for our patients.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to provide technical assistance and support, including animal handling and restraint.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices in large animal care.
Requirements
- Must be able to follow and comprehend written and verbal instructions, as well as recognize needs and establish priorities in order to ensure quality patient care.
- Ability to make sound emergency decisions concerning the health and safety of both humans and animals.
- Must be able to safely work with and proficiency at handling and restraining all species and breeds of large animals.
- Ability to tolerate Rabies prophylaxis (provided by employer) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in veterinary care of large animals, including various animal restraint methods and specialized equipment.
Working Conditions
This is a restricted appointment, and the successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
