Job Title: Small Animal ICU Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team in the Small Animal ICU at Virginia Tech. As a Veterinary Technician in our ICU, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform triage and patient assessments for our ICU patients
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Monitor and maintain patient vital signs and medical equipment
  • Assist with surgical procedures and provide post-operative care
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements:
  • Licensed or licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT)
  • Knowledge of basic nursing skills and CPR
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in critical care nursing in a veterinary medical setting
  • VTS in Emergency & Critical Care
