The Medicare Insurance Landscape
Nearly all individuals on Medicare require an insurance policy, frequently at no expense to them. As a Medicare insurance representative, you earn compensation for guiding seniors through the selection of Medicare insurance policies.
This is NOT a conventional sales position. Your task is not to persuade clients to purchase a policy; rather, it is to help them identify the policy that best meets their needs.
Federal regulations govern solicitation practices. You are NOT permitted to engage in door-to-door sales, approach strangers, or conduct cold calls. Building a network of trusted partners within senior service sectors is essential for obtaining referrals. Marketing is permissible, subject to specific guidelines and oversight.
As with many insurance roles, your compensation is structured as monthly payments for each active policy. Most Medicare clients maintain their policies for an average of eight years, allowing for years of residual income once a policy is active.
Business Structure
This opportunity is for independent contractors, not employees. You will operate your own business. Caspian Health Insurance Solutions will provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance and success.
In fact, you will receive compensation directly from the insurance companies, retaining 100% of your commissions. Caspian will receive payment for supervising your activities.
Caspian Health Insurance Solutions will NOT claim ownership of your client list. Should you choose to change your Medicare affiliation, we will support your decision, unlike some General Agencies.
Compensation Potential
Your monthly earnings will depend on the number of active policies you manage. There are three main types of Medicare policies, each with varying compensation rates. On average, you can anticipate earning $25-$30 per policy monthly.
With a commitment of 20 to 25 hours per week, your income trajectory may look like this:
Year 1: $10,000; Year 2: $25,000; Year 3: $40,000; Year 4: $70,000; Year 5: $95,000
Many agents find that Medicare insurance sales serve as supplementary income until the third or fourth year.
Work Responsibilities
Your primary tasks will involve attending community events, hosting small gatherings, engaging with new clients, and managing your business operations. Much of this work can be conducted remotely. There is NOT a significant amount of effort required for servicing existing clients, as insurance companies will handle client support once a policy is established.
To sell Medicare insurance, you must complete annual certifications, including a federal examination (AHIP) and assessments for each insurance carrier you represent. This process ensures that only the most dedicated professionals are involved in Medicare insurance sales.
