Position Overview:

As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our products at Butler America Aerospace, LLC. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining our high standards of quality and precision.

Contract Duration: 4 months (with potential for extension)

Compensation: $26-30/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of various components, subassemblies, and final products to ensure adherence to engineering specifications and customer expectations.
  • Set up, test, and troubleshoot units as necessary within the repair center.
  • Perform inspections based on customer specifications accessed through a shared portal, completing all relevant FAA documentation.
  • Evaluate fabricated parts, raw materials, and subassemblies for quality, including checks for finish burrs, riveting, staking, soldering, plating, crimping, and other treatments.
  • Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges to verify dimensions and processes against manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Review job order travelers and shipping/receiving documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Accept or reject components and complete necessary documentation, including Material Rejection Reports (MRRs).
  • Conduct and assess First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality engineers to address any specification discrepancies during in-process inspections.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, fabrication, and inspection.
  • Completion of solder school certification in IPC-A-610 or a similar certification in MilStd-WS6536D.
  • Proficient in performing dimensional inspections using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS certification is required.
  • Strong understanding of AS9102, First Article Inspection (FAI), and FAI Reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing prints, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical inspection tools, including calipers, microscopes, and dial gauges.
  • Capable of following both oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to meet visual standards as outlined in military specifications.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
