Job Summary

The Coordinator for Student Engagement and Fraternity and Sorority Life plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus community at Gannon University. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive clubs and student organization programs and policies founded in student development theory, principles, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and empower clubs and organizations through program development, training, decision-making, recruitment, coaching, facilitation, assessment, and budget management.
  • Advise and support the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community through program development and evaluation, risk management, benchmarking and assessment, strategic planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to build rapport and effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of campus life.
  • Utilize relevant software and technology for managing club operations and communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working in student affairs, campus engagement, or a related field, with a focus on supporting clubs and organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of student development theory, event planning best practices, and budget management principles.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and best practices.
Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to meet the physical demands associated with a high-energy and robust pace of a highly active office. The Coordinator must be able to sustain the rhythm of high-energy periods such as Summer Orientation, Welcome Week, Student Leader training, and Homecoming weekend.
