Job Title: Principal Storage Engineer

At Raytheon, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Storage Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our storage team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing storage solutions that meet the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and scale-out object storage
  • Develop and maintain storage configurations for storage devices, including Linux-based systems
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
  • Work with system administrators and other engineering personnel to implement storage configurations
  • Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations

Requirements:

  • Active and transferable DOD - Secret security clearance
  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics
  • 5+ years of related work experience in storage administration and design
  • Experience with fiber channel configurations, tape libraries, and servers
  • Experience with enterprise backup architecture, emphasizing Cohesity or NetBackup solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Block and File Storage in a cross-protocol system administration
  • Experience with Brocade Fire Channel administration
  • Experience with backup systems like Cohesity or NetBackup administration
  • System administration with RHEL OS
  • Desirable - Experience with design and initial build of cross-protocol storage solutions
  • Desirable - Experience with Storage Architecture and Trade Studies
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
  • Experience using automation frameworks such as Ansible or Chef
