**Job Summary:**

The Civil Survey Team Lead role plans, directs, manages, and provides oversight of assigned design and survey projects to ensure that company goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule and budget parameters.

This position is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects, engaging in business development necessary to meet growth goals, managing resources, schedules, financials, and adhering to quality and control guidelines.

This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Develops and manages all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Maintains and develops practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Provides on-site leadership of team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Prepares proposals and detailed project plan for potential projects.
  • Develops and delivers status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
  • Assists in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation, as needed.
  • Monitors, tracks, and controls outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and participates in quality issue resolution.
  • Ensures that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills, including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule, and within budget.
  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD.
  • Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • RPLS required.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
