Job Summary

The Meat Clerk is a key member of the Meat Department team at Festival Foods. As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist customers in finding products on the sales floor and in the Meat Department.
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill customer orders and special requests.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering department telephones and addressing customer concerns.
  • Support teammates and contribute to a positive department culture.
  • Ensure high-quality standards are met by inspecting, rotating, and maintaining proper temperatures of meat products.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in the Meat Department.
  • Lead by example by following proper food safety procedures.
  • Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Regular, timely attendance and adequate notice for occasional absences.
Qualifications
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Repetitive motion of hands and wrists.
Work Schedule

The Meat Clerk is an hourly part-time or full-time position with varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
