Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Equipment Specialist to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our biomedical engineering team, you will be responsible for performing and maintaining preventative maintenance, repair, analysis, design, modification, installation, and evaluation of sophisticated and complex instrumentation used in the clinical laboratory.

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and efficiently, and that our laboratory meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and maintain preventative maintenance, repair, analysis, design, modification, installation, and evaluation of sophisticated and complex instrumentation used in the clinical laboratory.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and that downtime is minimized.
  • Collaborate with our biomedical engineering team to design and implement new equipment and systems.
  • Ensure that all equipment meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • 6 years of clinical lab instrumentation maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in Windows PC and network operating systems, PC repair, and working with laptops.
  • Knowledgeable of Joint Commission and College of American Pathologists (CAP) standards for Environment of Care.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as a clinical laboratory equipment specialist (CLES) or CBMET.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
