The Commerce Systems Team

The Commerce Systems team is a critical component of Stripe's Revenue platform, responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that enables our product and sales teams to deliver seamless customer experiences. As a Technical Program Manager on this team, you will play a key role in driving the development of scalable and reliable systems that support Stripe's growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operationalize and execute on key cross-functional programs, including managing operation reviews, driving efficiencies in capacity governance, and launch reviews.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers and Technical Program Managers to define, scope, and improve the operational needs within the teams.
  • Develop and implement program management procedures, frameworks, and metrics to achieve goals with defined success criteria.
  • Leverage data to drive strategic decisions and reporting at the leadership level.
  • Create canonical documentation of plans and processes, driving consistency and alignment across teams.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
  • A strong background in product/infrastructure architecture and a passion for quality, reliability, and correctness.
  • Experience in program management during all phases of software development, from kick-off to ship, with critical thinking and thought leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and teams across the organization.
  • Experience operating autonomously and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale platforms, infrastructure, and organizations.
  • Experience leading initiatives with a global footprint, having built APIs, products, and complex systems/infrastructure at scale.
