Energy Major Loss Claims Adjuster

At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers manage risk. As a key technical position, the Energy Major Loss Claims Adjuster plays a crucial role in the proactive management of all lines NA Energy claims.

The role serves as a large & complex NA Energy claim handler in collaboration with NA Energy Claim leadership, NA Energy underwriting business leads & stakeholders to deliver a consistent, efficient and customer centric NA Energy claim proposition.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Authorizing reserves and payments within granted authority and referring over authority claim decisions to appropriate Senior Claim leadership
  • Ensuring prescriptive and cost-effective management of assigned vendors on large & complex claims handled
  • Communicating, updating and maintaining compliance with established AIG Claims & Litigation guidelines, ensuring appropriate and timely engagement with AIG Legal department and participating in cross-functional litigated claim file roundtables
  • Reporting timely and accurately on individually handled significant NA Energy large losses, casualties & catastrophes to NA Energy Claim leadership
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with NA Regional Energy underwriting, actuaries, finance, reinsurance and other stakeholders on claim trends
  • Maintaining superior Energy claim skills by participating in and delivering technical training, keeping current with industry custom & practice
  • Identifying and reporting NA Energy claim trends, lessons learned & risk management opportunities and sharing with the NA Energy Claim management as well as relevant Energy stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk management)
  • Supporting Head of NA Energy Claims on all assigned projects and initiatives
  • Ensuring strict adherence to NA Energy Claims compliance with all appropriate governmental regulatory and AIG Corporate claims governance guidelines

Requirements include:

  • Strong technical Energy claim capability to manage and oversee assigned Energy claims
  • Demonstrating an established & proven reputation in Energy Insurance claim management
  • Ability to manage / minimize the total cost of complex Energy claims in indemnity & expense
  • Existing strong relationships with NA Energy stakeholders, customers, and brokers / producers
