Position Overview
The Division of Property Assessments offers guidance, expertise, and oversight to property assessors across the state, ensuring the efficient management of Tennessee's property tax system. This division also supports reappraisal initiatives, provides technological assistance, and administers the Tax Relief Program. We are currently looking for a Tax Relief Analyst to join our Nashville Tax Relief team, collaborating with management, staff, other state agencies, and local governments to facilitate the coordination and execution of division activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review applications to verify eligibility, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Draft correspondence for applicants and local government representatives.
  • Evaluate applicant financial data to ascertain eligibility.
  • Interpret legal documents to confirm ownership.
  • Update and review tax relief reports utilized in processing.
  • Assist with various accounting tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A background in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with local government officials, colleagues, and other stakeholders while maintaining credibility.
  • Applicants should be detail-oriented, exhibit strong organizational skills, and be adept at interacting with diverse personalities and organizational levels.
