RK&K's Construction Management and Engineering team is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team in North Carolina.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Inspector to perform complex and routine inspections on materials, processes, safety, and documentation to ensure construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on construction sites to evaluate compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Review drawings and understand the design of the construction to be inspected.
  • Document the results of the inspection and communicate with supervisors.
  • Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation and other contract administration documentation.
  • Inspect work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices, and maintenance thereof, utility coordination, and right-of-way issue resolution.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of inspection experience required.
  • Experience and certifications in NCDOT inspection and materials testing (earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pavement preservation, and Erosion & Sedimentation Control) is preferred.
  • Experience with NCDOT's construction procedures is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
