Human Resources Strategist

McPherson College seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of Human Resources. This key role will be responsible for developing, executing, and assessing human resource strategy in support of the college's overall strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources management, with a minimum of five years of experience in a generalist role. A bachelor's degree in business or human resources management is required, with a master's degree preferred. PHR or SPHR certification is also highly valued.

The Executive Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Talent management: Developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent
  • Change management: Leading organizational change initiatives to drive business results
  • Organizational and performance management: Developing and implementing performance management systems to drive employee engagement and productivity
  • Training and development: Designing and delivering training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
  • Employee relations: Providing guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters
  • Policy and procedure: Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Compensation and benefits: Developing and implementing compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
  • Employee wellness and benefits programs: Developing and implementing programs to promote employee well-being and benefits

The successful candidate will have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with third-party providers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Windows, Excel, and Word, is required, as well as familiarity with a robust HRIS system such as Jenzabar, Banner, or SAP. Experience with benefits administration portals is preferred.
