Property Accountant for Affordable Housing

C&R Management Group LLC is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join its Accounting Team. This role will oversee the financial procedures for a selection of affordable properties in Yardi Property Management Software.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, GL coding, and financial statements. Additionally, they will undertake special projects as directed by the Controller.
This position offers the opportunity to work from the Vancouver Office after completing 90 days in the position.
Key Responsibilities- Review and audit monthly bank reconciliations.
- Record adjusting and accrual entries.
- Monitor cash balances and accounts to prevent overdrafts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements with supporting documents for clients.
- Identify and correct any errors in accounts.
- Assist in daily, monthly, and annual audits.
- Accurately record or audit invoices in a timely manner.
- Process final accounting for residents who move out.
- Monitor tenant accounts for overages/shortages and past-due amounts.
- Send notices as needed.
- Process payables, ensuring accurate coding.
- Consistently write and send checks.
- A degree in accounting or at least three years of accounting experience.
- Preferably six months of experience with Yardi Property Management software.
- Prior experience with accounting for affordable housing or subsidies is highly beneficial.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and TEAMS).
- Multitasking, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks using excellent organizational skills, time management, and critical thinking to solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed and high attention to detail.
The estimated salary range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience.
