About the Role

Northern Impact is seeking a seasoned Healthcare Project Architect to join our dynamic Healthcare Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of ambulatory healthcare facilities, on-campus and skilled nursing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead teams and clients through the programming, design, and construction administration of ambulatory healthcare facilities.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional customer service and design execution.
  • Design Management: Deploy resources to ensure a smooth design process, acting as the primary liaison between the team and the client.
  • Project Coordination: Concurrently implement and manage the design of several small to mid-size projects, collaborating with internal and external resources.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a complete understanding of sequencing and coordination of healthcare project-related MEP and structural engineering, as well as all vendor contracts.
  • Lease Transaction Process: Understand the lease transaction process and the company's role in the process, maintaining current working relationships within the local Healthcare Real Estate community.
  • Company Goals: Facilitate firm and project goals of excellent customer service, design, and execution with respect and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or Bachelor's of Architecture (B.Arch) from a college or university, or 10 years' progressive relevant experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, with a Professional Architectural License (CA) or certification essential.
  • Advanced Credentials: Advanced credentials desired (CHID, ACHA, EDAC, LEED, WELL, Fitwel, etc.).
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Proven experience with HCAI/OSHPD-3 construction/design process, and knowledge of the different healthcare segments, including institutional, ambulatory, and business occupancy environments, inpatient and outpatient.
  • Design Knowledge: Intimate knowledge and understanding of FGI, IBC, and NFPA as applicable to healthcare projects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent management, organizational, negotiation, communications skills, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of REVIT and CAD preferred, with intermediate MS Office application skills.
  • Lifelong Learning: A lifelong learner eager to share knowledge and mentor team members.
  • Code Knowledge: Knowledge of federal, state, and local building administrative codes relating to building projects.
  • Architectural Principles: Extensive knowledge of architectural and interiors principles/practices that include modern architectural methods and background on solving architectural design and construction problems.
