About the Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Rush University Medical Center. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will work closely with Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses to provide high-quality patient care and maintain a smooth patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain patient records and update them accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist providers with patient exams and procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms and treatment areas.
  • Call patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
  • Call in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
  • Document patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
  • Assist with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.

Requirements:

We require a High school diploma/GED and Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required (includes principles and techniques of injections and medication administration) required upon hire. Graduates of a Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program are required to obtain Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required within six months of hire. Current CPR certification required upon start date.
