About the Position

At National PTA, we're committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and families across the nation. Our Resource Development team plays a vital role in achieving this mission, and we're seeking a highly motivated and organized Development Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the stewardship of PTA's Proud National Sponsors, building strong relationships with partner points of contact and maintaining a communication and meeting schedule.
  • Work on internal planning teams and working groups for projects, including events, programs, and communications initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality of all information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a role with related skills (e.g., customer service, sales, event-planning, teaching, partnerships, etc.).
  • Previous fundraising or donor engagement experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or education sector is a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment in Alexandria, VA, currently on a hybrid schedule in-office 2 days per week with core office hours.
  • May be required to work some evenings and weekends for special programs/events.
  • Position may be required to travel
