Heavy Diesel Mechanic Job Description

Career Concepts is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Erie, PA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, transmissions, and other components of heavy equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Identify and troubleshoot issues with heavy diesel engines, transmissions, and other components. Perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Document parts usage and order necessary supplies.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while working on diesel equipment. Promote a safe working environment.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meet high-quality standards and comply with manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and team members to efficiently complete tasks. Communicate effectively with supervisors and provide updates on work progress.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in diesel engine systems. Attend training sessions and workshops as necessary.
Requirements:
  • 4-5 years or more of proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Benefits:
  • Full-time with the consideration of part-time.
  • Pay Rate is $16.50-$30 per hour.
  • Shift will be between the hours of 7am-4pm.
  • Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts.
  • Benefits available while employed through Career Concepts.
