Job Summary

MWH Constructors is seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the construction of a large heavy civil project in Southern New England. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of construction inspectors and other personnel
  • Coordinate daily inspections, documentation, and reporting
  • Coordinate meetings, progress updates, and special meetings
  • Execute the Quality Assurance Plan
  • Review and verify contractor applications for payment
  • Process contractor submittals and requests for information
  • Evaluate contractor cost proposals and oversee the change management system
  • Manage the project risk register and implement the safety plan
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar field
  • Minimum 15 years of experience as resident engineer or project manager in heavy civil construction
  • Thorough understanding of construction cast-in-place concrete structures
  • Strong focus on construction safety and management skills
  • Experience in change order management and defense of claims
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, BlueBeam, and Adobe Acrobat software
  • Familiarity with project management information systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current registration as a professional engineer
  • PMP or CCM certification
  • Experience in water/wastewater construction and underground construction
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 Professional
