Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Manager to join our team at the City of College Park, GA. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, organizing, and managing the City's grants programs, as well as administering funding from granting agencies to support various City projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, administer, and monitor financial activities of grant-funding opportunities to derive additional sources of income from local, state, and federal agencies or private/philanthropic resources.
  • Develop, update, and implement policies and procedures relating to grant administration and grant management.
  • Utilize grant management systems as required by the respective grant and/or as developed and provided by the City.
  • Research various media sources to identify grant funding opportunities and determine the availability of grant funding for City departments, projects, or programs.
  • Process grant contracts and agreements, conduct negotiations with funding sources, and secure matching funds from the City.
  • Provide financial oversight for the administration of grant funds, conduct routine monitoring, and prepare grant budgets, budget amendments, and related documents.
  • Conduct mock audits on all grant programs prior to the end of the City's fiscal year and utilize results to identify and correct problems involving accounting and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and associated budgets, write, revise, and edit drafts, and obtain approvals.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff, process employee concerns and problems, direct work, counsel, discipline, and complete employee performance appraisals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, with specific training in grant writing and grants management; Master's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in grants management, with at least two (2) years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of municipal operations, grant sources, application procedures, proposal requirements, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with consultants, contractors, community officials, state and federal officials, and fellow employees.
