Core Responsibilities:

Clinical Support:
- Rooming patients and measuring vital signs.

- Updating medical histories and accurately documenting patient information in electronic health records (EHR).

- Assisting healthcare professionals during patient examinations and procedures.

- Preparing patients for various diagnostic tests and treatments.

- Maintaining a clean and organized examination environment.

Blood Collection:
- Performing venipuncture and capillary blood draws.

- Properly labeling and managing blood samples for laboratory analysis.

- Adhering to infection control and safety protocols during all blood collection activities.

Patient Interaction:
- Effectively communicating with patients, explaining procedures, and addressing their inquiries and concerns.

- Providing clear post-procedure instructions to patients as directed by healthcare professionals.

Medical Supplies Management:
- Maintaining and replenishing medical supplies in examination rooms.

- Ensuring the proper operation of medical equipment and reporting any malfunctions.

Team Collaboration:
- Working collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and administrative personnel to ensure efficient healthcare operations.

- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the overall patient care strategy. Flexibility to assist at the front desk as needed.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma or equivalent.

- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

- Current Medical Assistant Certification or proof of diploma.

- 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with a strong emphasis on clinical support and blood collection techniques.

- Familiarity with front desk operations for potential cross-training.

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.

- Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

- CPR certification is preferred.
