Position Overview:
As a Federal Tax Consultant at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of clients, from large corporations to small enterprises across various sectors. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients by comprehensively understanding their operations and challenges. Each year, you will engage in multiple team projects, contributing to various aspects of assignments rather than being confined to a single task. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating in a team that specializes in a broad spectrum of tax areas, including but not limited to corporate taxation, income tax accounting, federal credits, individual taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and private client services.
  • Conducting tax planning and research.
  • Preparing federal and state tax returns.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding of tax regulations and accounting standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Major in Accounting.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, with access to reliable transportation.
  • A preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progressing towards the successful completion of the CPA exam—tax consultants have the opportunity to acquire the audit hours necessary for full certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
