Position Overview

The role involves delivering personal care services to patients facing terminal illnesses within a hospice setting, under the supervision of a registered nurse. This position also entails providing emotional support and assistance to families during their times of grief. Collaborating with the hospice care team is essential to ensure that care is aligned with the individualized care plan established by the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG).

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Training and Certification: Completion of an accredited training program and competency evaluation is required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must meet federal training and competency standards for Home Health Aides. The ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions, and effectively manage crisis situations is crucial. Flexibility to adapt to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds is important.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience as a nursing assistant is required, with recent patient interaction preferred within the last three years.

  • Transportation Requirements: A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required to perform assigned personal care duties under the direction of healthcare professionals.
