Job Summary

Mental Health America of South Central Kansas is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Coach to join our team. As a Recovery Coach, you will provide peer support services to individuals in recovery from mental illness or addiction, helping them to develop the skills and strategies necessary to maintain their recovery and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver peer support services in community locations that align with the consumer's needs and preferences.
  • Document all interactions with consumers, including progress notes and billing information.
  • Teach consumers effective coping skills and self-help strategies, promoting independence and self-efficacy.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other team members to ensure comprehensive and person-centered services.

Requirements:

  1. Must be certified through the Kansas Certified Peer Mentoring Program Basic Training class and pass the certification exam.
  2. Be at least 18 years old and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Self-identify as in recovery with a minimum of one year sobriety.
  4. Have valid Kansas driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and access to a personal vehicle.
