Key Responsibilities

- Handle medical waste responsibly, including items such as syringes and gloves.
- Dust and clean furniture and equipment as required.
- Address and disinfect areas contaminated with blood or bodily fluids.
- Utilize various cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners and washing machines.
- Document procedures for medical waste disposal, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a highly specialized environment where priorities may shift. You should demonstrate initiative and responsibility in completing assigned tasks. A solid understanding of reporting standards, compliance, and effective communication is essential. Additionally, you will ensure adherence to safety precautions within the healthcare facility, particularly regarding the use of cleaning chemicals. You will also maintain the cleanliness of storage areas for medical supplies and ensure that housekeeping materials are consistently available.
Qualifications
- Valid California driver's license.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and a dedication to hygiene.
- Mathematical skills for proper mixing of cleaning agents.
- Proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of sterilization processes for equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions diligently.
- Positive attitude and ability to work under dust exposure.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to learn new skills, particularly regarding chemical use and safety procedures.
- Leadership qualities and initiative.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Punctuality and reliability.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Bilingual skills, preferably in Spanish, are a plus.
At Janus, the base salary is part of a comprehensive compensation package, with opportunities for growth based on your skills and experience. The hourly pay range for this position is between $23.00 and $24.00, determined by your qualifications and relevant experience.
