About the Job

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to join our team. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic II, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections on vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on Repair Orders (RO)
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field
  • Valid driver's license and DOT Medical Card
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
