Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a highway/roadway design team to design and analyze hydraulics, including storm drain system design, culverts, and water quality treatment design for moderate to large projects.
  • Prepare or oversee design work using local, Caltrans, or FHWA standards, including inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis.
  • Develop and oversee contract plans, specifications, and estimates for various project sizes, including inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis.
  • Manage day-to-day communication with clients, advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in general civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD civil engineering software, such as Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
