Job Description

The Millwork Project Manager Lead is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of millwork projects. This role requires a blend of leadership, project management, and technical expertise to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role will be the lead for a team of millwork project managers, while successfully managing client relationships and effectively collaborating with the leaders of other functional areas of the organization.

The Millwork Project Manager Lead will be responsible for deployment of resources, scheduling, and cost & quality controls surrounding the coordination of the manufacture of our millwork product lines.

This role will report to the Director of Project and Program Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Millwork Project Management staff in the timely fulfillment of customer orders throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of millwork materials, processes, and techniques to provide technical guidance and problem-solving to support the team.
  • Monitor jobs throughout their lifecycle to ensure maximum profitability and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Hold staff accountable for meeting or exceeding financial and customer expectation objectives.
  • Own and continuously improve the program and project management processes followed cross-functionally by all iMBranded team members.
  • Manage key millwork projects to include all duties of a millwork project manager.
  • Coordinate production, timing, and prioritization through planning with various stakeholders and work with these parties to implement new products and/or processes.
  • Effectively communicate issues, requests, or other pertinent items ensuring high levels of internal and external client satisfaction.
  • Work with team members to generate solutions to business issues and then plan/implement those solutions based on documented risk assessment.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, discharge staff, and resolve personnel issues.
  • Prepare and maintain various production reports and personnel records and enter pertinent data into Company cost accounting systems as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the millwork field, specifically staying abreast of material innovations and pertinent technological advances.
  • Coach team members on best practices in program/project management, deploying standard methods and tools as needed.
  • Ensure that proper management practices are adhered to by providing ongoing performance and career discussions and on-time completion of relevant people processes.
  • Directly manage high profile programs, particularly during the preliminary stages with new clients to ensure proper set up and risk mitigation.

  • Extensive knowledge of millwork production materials & techniques, including the ability to read/interpret architectural blueprints to include material schedules, elevations, and CAD drawings.
  • Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills and the ability to define workflows.
  • Proficiency with computers and the MS Office Suite including Excel and Project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful project management experience.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience or experience leading a Project Management team within the millwork or construction industry.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working both autonomously and with others in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or related Master's degree.
  • Business process consulting techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
  • PMP Certification.
  • Experience defining departmental policies and SOPs.
  • Experience working with Innergy ERP software.
