Position Overview:

The Senior Phlebotomy Specialist is accountable for executing all responsibilities associated with the role of Phlebotomist Tech II, which encompasses standard blood collection procedures across diverse age demographics, including neonates and infants.

Additionally, this role requires proficiency in the specimen processing and receiving sectors of the laboratory. The specialist must exhibit the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver age-appropriate care to patients within the designated area. Competency in patient and specimen registration is also essential.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in phlebotomy, working with all age groups is required.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy from a recognized national agency is mandatory and must remain current and valid.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals is preferred.
  • Proven capability in addressing customer service inquiries and possessing strong communication skills is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with relevant computer systems necessary for patient identification and specimen processing tasks is preferred.
