Job Summary

The YMCA of Central Ohio is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lead Teacher to join our Preschool Program team. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment for our young students, while also providing exceptional care and support to their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the YMCA's educational standards and goals.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment, ensuring the physical and emotional needs of all students are met.
  • Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive team approach.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Staff Supervision: Provide guidance and support to early childhood education staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies, including those related to child care, health, and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an early care and education setting, with a proven track record of developing authentic relationships with children, families, and staff.
  • Certifications: Current training certifications in first aid, communicable diseases, child abuse recognition and prevention, and other relevant areas.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and distractions.
