Lead Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our Preschool Program team at the YMCA of Central Ohio. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging learning environment that fosters the cognitive, social, and emotional development of young children.
Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the YMCA's curriculum and program guidelines
- Plan and prepare a well-balanced and varied program for children, incorporating Ohio, SUTQ, NAEYC, and grant standards
- Child Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Assess each child's developmental needs using designated assessment and screening tools
- Establish and monitor individual goals for all children, documenting evidence for curriculum planning and assessment
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with families, children, and staff, providing regular updates on child progress and program activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive team approach
- Administrative and Organizational Tasks
- Collect, record, and maintain all necessary information/documentation for student records, funding, and other projects
- Enter data into appropriate systems in a timely and consistent manner
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in child development, elementary education, or related field from a college or university
- Previous experience in an early care and education setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certifications and Training
- First aid and communicable diseases training certifications
- Child abuse recognition and prevention training certifications

- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
