About the Role:

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Project Engineer III to join our Transportation team in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. As a key member of our bridge practice, you will be responsible for performing transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures in Minnesota and exposure to project work throughout the Western U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.
  • Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure type analysis evaluations.
  • Use current engineering design software to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Requirements:

  • BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.
  • Preferred qualifications include professional engineering-related work experience with a heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges, PE licensure, and 6+ years of demonstrated MnDOT bridge design project work.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as OpenRoads and OpenBridge is highly preferred.
