Surgical Technologist-Operating Room Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Duke Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in the preparation and care of surgical patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and surgical outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients, including preparing the operating room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field and ensure the team maintains a sterile environment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and apply basic knowledge of instrumentations to several cases.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians, adhering to standards including unit and hospital policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
- Experience in a surgical setting, with a strong understanding of sterile technique and instrumentation.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a stressful environment, and often without relief.
