The College for Creative Studies (CCS) seeks a forward-thinking Strategic Educational Technology Leader to drive the institution-wide transformation of online, blended, and technology-enhanced instruction.

Main Accountabilities:

• Oversee professional development for face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and online instruction, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to educational technology tools for classroom instruction.
    • Collaborate with the Learning Management System (LMS) technologist and the Dean of Academic Affairs to implement assessment plans in the LMS (Canvas).
    • Manage relationships with external partners supporting technology-enhanced instruction at CCS, including Canvas, NC-SARA, EvaluationKit, and Gravity Sketch.
    • Supervise and collaborate with a team of Instructional Designers and an LMS technologist on the Educational Technology and Innovation team, guiding their work and providing strategic direction.
    • Partner with Academic Affairs and key stakeholders to achieve short and long-term goals for technology-enhanced teaching and learning across undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and continuing studies programs.
    • Collaborate and assist in facilitating professional development workshops and symposia, focusing on course design, online teaching, technology-enhanced learning, new faculty orientation, and CCS professional development day.
    • Manage and maintain the annual budget, ensuring the effective allocation of resources for the development and implementation of educational technology initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree in a related field and have a proven track record of innovation in teaching, online pedagogy, and a strong understanding of emerging technologies. They will have extensive experience in instructional design for both LMS-enhanced in-person learning and online learning, with a strong focus on data-driven decision making and a commitment to student success. The successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills, patience, a sense of humor, and the ability to lead and collaborate with colleagues across the college. Additionally, they will have experience working with learning management systems, managing budgets, supervising teams, and developing program plans from vision to implementation.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment, with occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The physical demands of the job include maintaining a stationary position, using a computer and other office equipment, and communicating effectively in person, by phone, and virtually. The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places. CCS will make reasonable accommodations that will allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
