About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at Integer Technologies LLC. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing sophisticated cybersecurity measures for our unmanned underwater and surface vessels (UUVs, USVs).

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will lead and mentor other engineers and interface with our research partners to develop and implement security protocols for real-time and near real-time decision-making architectures and operator-in-the-loop configurations. You will also integrate and prototype cyber-physical systems utilizing various communication protocols such as CAN, MODBUS, and TCP/IP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop algorithms and software integral to an integrated cyber-physical resilience stress testing platform for UUVs and USVs.
  • Engineer sophisticated cybersecurity measures, including AI/ML security tools, to enhance the resilience of autonomous systems.
  • Contribute to the architecture design, development, and deployment of an attack emulation cyber-physical resilience stress test platform that simulates sophisticated cyber threats for testing and validation of security measures in cyber-physical systems.
  • Develop and implement security protocols for real-time and near real-time decision-making architectures and operator-in-the-loop configurations.
  • Integrate and prototype cyber-physical systems utilizing various communication protocols such as CAN, MODBUS, and TCP/IP.
  • Mentor researchers and engineers on toolsets, best practices, and state-of-the-art methods in cyber research, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Employ best practices in software development to create scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly progress reports, white papers, research articles, and proposals for new cyber-physical systems security business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field) and 4+ years of experience relevant to primary responsibilities outlined above.
  • Strong background in computer and network architecture and operating systems.
  • Conducted research on topics related to cyber-physical systems such as Internet of Things (IoT), Intelligent Sensors, Autonomous Systems, Industrial Control Systems, or other related topics.
  • Experience with developing software with general-purpose languages in a production environment such as Python.
  • Experience programming in a low-level programming language such as C/C++.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and technical leadership.
  • Must be comfortable with modern software engineering practices such as version control.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 15% of time.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related field) and 1+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) models to develop advanced cybersecurity tools.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment, exploit development, and/or reverse engineering for cyber-physical systems with AI/ML-based controllers or automation software.
  • Experience with cyber research involving maritime or Navy platforms (e.g., automation and sensor systems onboard maritime vessels and/or uncrewed maritime systems).
  • Experience reverse engineering and developing secure software for embedded systems.
  • Experience designing integrated system/software/hardware architectures for autonomous vehicles.
  • Product development experience.
