As a Medical Assistant II, you will be responsible for performing expanded and advanced level medical assistant duties, including identifying and resolving concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical support to one or more clinicians, demonstrating a high level of competence and providing back-up coverage for support staff.
- Work to improve clinical efficiencies of the operation by determining urgency and priority of walk-ins, add-on patients, and patient consults.
- Provide direct clinical and clerical support to clinicians, including preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
- Experience typically acquired through three years in a clinical setting with at least one as a Medical Assistant (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Computer experience required with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs. Electronic medical record (EMR) experience and/or aptitude to master the EMR based on other technology experience required.
